CHICAGO, IL - With Chicago Restaurant Week coming to a close, the Midway Airport McDonald’s fast food restaurant has revealed their menu, and it prominently features a $48 Big Mac for extremely agitated travellers to enjoy. The restaurant manager thinks people are going to love this special Restaurant Week opportunity.

“We here at the Midway McDonald’s are proud to have been included as a last-minute addition to Restaurant Week. To be honest, we’ve always felt like our location was nothing more than the last resort restaurant for people who think, ‘I’m not going to eat at a Wolfgang Puck restaurant at an airport,’ so this honor is important to us,” said Henry Davis, manager of the restaurant.

“We wanted to celebrate by giving back to our rabid, extremely upset patrons for Restaurant Week. Typically our Big Macs are an affordable $15, but in order to align ourselves with other establishments, like Fig and Olive or Ada Street, we want to go big and charge $48. Besides, where else are people going to eat? Sbarro? This isn’t the mall where your mom dropped you off for 4 hours while she smokes a whole pack of cigarettes outside a Sears.”

Patrons of McDonald's aren’t surprised about the Chicago Restaurant Week deal and know this is their only option when it comes to airport food.

“Well, I can’t bring food or liquid into the airport because people think it’s a bomb, so it looks like I’m going to have to eat this $40 Big Mac. Ba da ba ba bah, I’m loving it!” said Rick Carney as he bit into the sandwich, tears rolling down his face. “The Chili’s in this airport didn’t have any reservations.”

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld asks what’s the deal with airplane food, but now he and every Chicago traveller will know what amazing deal is around the corner in the Midway food court.
